Heads need to roll for this one, starting with Jim Hendry and Lou Piniella. Hendry assembled this garbage lineup and Lou can’t win a playoff game with them to save his life. Here’s hoping Mark Cuban buys the team and cleans house.

I do not agree with the realacevenom regarding Lou Piniella & Jim Hendry at all. There are changes that need to be made but those are not the ones to focus on. The Cubs need to get a true leadoff man – maybe they go after Brian Roberts again. Sorryano is not the ticket at leadoff. If the Cubs can move Sorryano and get anything for him, do it. Find 2 corner outfielders – preferably with LH bats and power. I also think it would be worth pursuing Mark Texiera and if they can sign him, use Lee in trades – like to Baltimore. The last major piece would be one more quality starting pitcher. They will re-sign Dempster. Can he repeat 2008? Remains to be seen. Harden has been taken up on his option. Zambrano is locked in. Ted Lilly is very good and unfortunately didn’t even get a chance to pitch in the NLDS. Shop Jason Marquis as well. Is that quality pitcher CC? Will Mark Cuban buy the team? Will anyone buy the team? A lot has changed in the last 3 weeks, so if the Cubs are sold, they will command less than originally projected. Finances and NON-performance in the playoffs (AGAIN) make it harder to do a deal – not easier. Break out the moth balls. It is officially college football season now. See you in April, and great job this year, Mikey. A different outcome would have been nice. Take care, my friend.

Mikey, drop me an email when you post “final thoughts” if you don’t mind. Thanks again.
